Match-Day Morning at Twickenham (1969)

Staff at Twickenham go through their morning routines in preparation for the 1969 Calcutta Cup contest between England and Scotland. Both sides were out of contention for the overall championship by this stage but the world's oldest international football contest was a sought after prize in its own right. England had recorded a win in Murrayfield the previous season and Budge Rogers' men did enough on the day to secure an 8-3 victory. Scotland however would gain revenge the following season with a 14-5 win on home turf in 1970. The clip is an extract from the film 'William Webb-Ellis, Are You Mad?' that was produced by the Rugby Football Union in celebration of its centenary season in 1971.
