The lead judge had this to say:

"The Sandford Award for the World Rugby Museum at Twickenham is thoroughly deserved. The award recognises the dedication of the Learning Team in providing programmes for young people, which instruct, motivate and inspire. One leaves the site better informed about the long tradition of rugby both at home and abroad, but most importantly with an excitement about the game today, and the value of fitness and team work in many areas of life".

Workshops and Seminars was launched in 2008 and supplies a three-pronged integrated learning experience that includes the museum, stadium and workshop/seminar. Details of all of our courses can be found here Schools and Learning.

The continued success of the programme has lead to content becoming integrated into our permanent museum galleries. The interactive 'Play Rugby' zone allows students to test their own fitness attributes and kicking prowess and poses the question: 'What Kind of Rugby Player Are You?' Visiting students from Key Stages 1-4 and above are offered an exciting, behind the scenes insight into how rugby union works and can enjoy workshops led by professionals in a variety of specialist topics. And best of all our workshops and seminars are FREE, coming at no additional cost for schools, colleges and universities who have booked the Twickenham Stadium Tour.
