Purpose of the workshop

This workshop will describe the evolution of rugby apparel from the 1840s to the present. Themes will include: an introduction to a range of textiles and fabrics, the changing culture of the sport, and the lifestyle and leisure of Victorian schoolchildren. All workshop equipment provided.

How the craftwork, design and materials, used in the production of rugby playing apparatus, have continually changed to reflect the times

Specialist understanding of England international players match-day facilities and equipment

Insight into the history and evolution of Rugby football and how players have changed over time
